An Organic American Story
The story of Aloevine Organics is that of a dream birthed in New York City. And it all starts with John Ra, CEO, and Founder of JJ Martin Group LLC.
An international immigrant, having journeyed to Argentina from Korea by boat (at one-year’s old), John came to New York City in the 80s at the age of 23 with nothing but $2 dollars and a brother who had a business in Harlem. After finding his knack for business, he kicked off his own entrepreneurial journey in Brooklyn, moving his wife from Argentina, and starting his own family.
Fast forward to 2001, John has three kids, the economy was in shambles, and with it, his first company. However, this was the catalyst for the first aloe drinks that JJ Martin Group LLC brought to market: Aloevine and Salutti. Without these brands, Aloevine Organics would have never come to existence.
In 2002, Aloevine and Salutti launched as one of the first aloe drink brands in the US. Over the years, these brands grew, and can now be found today in major retailers such as ShopRite, Stop & Shop, HEB, and Publix.
However, shortly after the launch of Aloevine and Salutti, consumers already began voicing their desire for a pulp free aloe drink. This kicked off a 15-year journey, filled with obstacles, failures, abandoned ideas, learnings, and endless pivots, all at the mercy of fast-evolving consumer demands.
In 2014, JJ Martin Group launched Aloha, Aloevine Organic’s initial predecessor, only to find that consumers wanted less sugar, less calories, less artificial ingredients, ethical sourcing and manufacturing practices, and products that were made in the USA.
After preserving through multiple trips back to the drawing board, John proudly presents the market’s first pulp-free, organic-certified aloe drink, containing only 5 calories, <1g of sugar, and 10 all natural/organic ingredients. A drink meant to replenish the sweat, tears, and stress spent over all these years - just kidding.
John hopes he’s delivered a tastier alternative to flavored waters, a flat drink alternative for non-carbonated preferences, and a low calorie, low sugar option for those who want something that’s just sweet enough.
